On March 16, 2020 the Prime Minister of Canada announced new actions under Canada’s COVID-19 response. These actions include measures that restrict the ability of foreign nationals (people who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada) to travel to, and enter Canada.
These measures came into effect on March 18, 2020, with additional restrictions for the US/Canada border announced on March 20, 2020.
